I hold a BSc in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science and was previously admitted to Wycombe Abbey School, Cheltenham Ladies' College and Concord College, where I achieved 2A*2A at A Level. I have also completed the CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting, achieving an average score of 80%.

Throughout my academic and professional journey, I have supported students with university applications, personal statements, admissions strategy and interview preparation for leading UK universities through the Wycombe Abbey Senior Mentors Programme and Zero Gravity. I have also delivered employability workshops and mentoring activities for 16-17 year old students through leading the EY Foundation Smart Futures Programme.

My teaching experience includes lesson planning and classroom delivery through Teach First, as well as teaching Mathematics, English and Chinese to classes of up to 30 students as a teaching assistant at Dignity School for Children in Malaysia.

I teach Mathematics and English, and support students with university admissions and career planning. Drawing on my experiences across the UK boarding school system, LSE and EY, I aim to provide structured, practical guidance that is tailored to each student's individual goals and learning style.

PERSONAL STATEMENT

Education has played a hugely important role in my life, and many of the opportunities I have enjoyed today are a direct result of the support, encouragement and guidance I received from teachers and mentors along the way. Having attended leading schools including Wycombe Abbey and Concord College before studying Economics at the London School of Economics, I understand both the academic pressures that students face and the importance of having someone who can explain things clearly, build confidence and provide encouragement during challenging periods. Through my own university application experience, I gained admission to the London School of Economics, University College London, King's College London and the University of Warwick, giving me first-hand experience of navigating competitive admissions processes and making informed decisions about higher education.

My passion for tutoring and mentoring has developed naturally throughout my academic and professional journey. Over the years, I have supported students with university applications, personal statements, admissions strategy and interview preparation through programmes such as the Wycombe Abbey Senior Mentors Programme and Zero Gravity. I have also led employability workshops and mentoring activities for students from disadvantaged backgrounds through the EY Foundation Smart Futures Programme. These experiences have shown me that success is often less about innate ability and more about confidence, motivation and having the right guidance at the right time.

I particularly enjoy working with students on a one-to-one basis because it allows me to tailor lessons to their individual learning styles and goals. Every student is different, and I believe effective tutoring is about understanding how each child learns best. Some students benefit from structured explanations and step-by-step practice, while others need encouragement to build confidence in subjects they find challenging. I find it incredibly rewarding to see a student begin to understand a topic they previously struggled with and develop confidence in their own abilities.

Alongside mentoring, I have practical teaching experience through the Teach First Summer Programme and as a teaching assistant at Dignity School for Children in Malaysia, where I taught Mathematics, English and Chinese to classes of up to 30 students. These experiences helped me develop the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly, adapt my teaching approach to different learning styles and create an engaging learning environment.

Outside of tutoring, I work as a Senior Consultant at EY, where I regularly coach and mentor junior colleagues. I enjoy reading, travelling, investing and keeping up to date with developments in economics, business and current affairs. I am fluent in English and Mandarin and conversational in Malay.

As a tutor, my goal is not only to help students improve academically but also to help them become more confident, independent learners. Whether a student is preparing for entrance examinations, aiming for top grades, exploring university options or simply looking to strengthen their foundations, I aim to provide a supportive, encouraging environment where they can build both skills and confidence.
