I did at CE level but I am able to be flexible and take on anything needed. I also am familiar with the boarding school entrance exams/what they look for in interviews.
Common Entrance: Verbal/Numeric Reasoning, other basic subjects at that age level.
GCSE: English, Maths, Sciences, and any other of the subjects that I listed above that I took.
A-Level: Economics, Business, Politics, History.
All of the above I have tutored either primarily with Spark Tutoring or in personal capacity.

Constructing gravity-fed clean water systems for Karen communities in rural North Thailand; Supporting M&E team with field surveys, project monitoring & evaluation, and data management & analysis; used multimedia platforms to create content supporting social media presence, including 7 blogs, videos and posts; Teaching English to school children; fundraised > €1500.

PERSONAL STATEMENT
I first became interested in tutoring when I was an undergraduate at UCL. My best friend at uni mentioned to me the company he worked for, Spark tutoring, and suggested I apply too and use his name as a reference. Looking back, that was perhaps one of the most enjoyable jobs I’ve ever undertaken - even if I’m only 22 and have had limited professional experience! I loved the opportunity of working together with students of all ages and backgrounds and helping them to become more confident both inside the classroom and outside. What is particularly rewarding is seeing the look of pure joy on a kid’s face when they finally get a tough question or topic right, having previously found it particularly challenging. Tutoring these kids has truly taught me that anyone can do anything if they set their mind to it, all it takes is a little nudge and encouragement along the way in the right direction. I had to temporarily stop tutoring while I was completing my master’s programme since I simply didn’t have enough time to balance my heavy workload alongside ongoing commitments to the students, and on that front, it is important to me to ensure consistency with the students since any abruption can be quite disruptive to a child’s learning progress. However, now that I am finished with the academic period of my life (I hope!), I wanted to return to the job that I grew to love, and I came across Love Learning through a fellow UCL grad who had also spoken fondly of her time with you.
Having personally experienced an incredible education through which I have learnt to love many of the subjects that I do, particularly languages and Economics, I aspire greatly to being able to help or encourage others to enjoy their education as well. Now, I know in many cases this "love" for a subject might not blossom quite as readily as mine did however, this is why I am motivated to tutor: to help others get to grips and perhaps enjoy their subjects too. It is the one-on-one aspect to tutoring which I believe makes tutoring so successful and effective for a tutee's education. Good teaching in my formative years has set me up for life, and I remember good teachers fondly which is also why I want to return the favour to new students. I believe I am an enthusiastic teacher who is able to make learning stimulating and fun for students of all abilities whilst still focussing on making progress. My learning plans are individualised for a student's own particular needs, and I enjoy identifying personally with high-fliers as much as with students who may be struggling in particular areas. I have a great respect for other people's opinions and perspectives and I enjoy working with new people to gain a fresh point of view; through tutoring, therefore, I can do just this.
Although I have only recently finished my university career, I still believe this may hugely benefit my tutoring in some aspects as the majority of the work is still very much fresh in my mind and I have experienced through my previous tutoring the way exams and lessons work in schools. Having had the privilege of going to an independent boarding school like Eton College, albeit on scholarship, also means that I am familiar with the framework around which such schools work when it comes to entrance examinations and what they look for in prospective students during interviews and other tests.
