SKILLS & INTERESTS

Besides studying, I find great enjoyment in sports, and music. From year 5, I have done track and field competitively, including being a state runner, whilst also representing my school in international events! I loved playing other sports, such as basketball, badminton and even swimming. Although not competitively anymore, I still enjoy running, and playing racquet sports like pickleball with my friends in our free time. Similarly, I thoroughly enjoy music, and am a classically trained opera singer, having learnt it since 8 years old. Alongside this, I play the saxophone and piano, and love listening to music every spare minute of the day, ranging across numerous genres, from classical pieces, to soft rock, folk and EDM like Daft Punk. Another favourite hobby of mine is reading, and I love reading historical fiction and mysteries, with my all time favourite authors being Dan Brown and Agatha Christie! I also

have working proficiency in multiple languages besides English, such as Mandarin and Hindi.

PERSONAL STATEMENT

My drive to tutor others trace back to a Year 2 classroom, where a teacher who believed in my potential rebuilt my confidence in storytelling and writing at a time where I needed it the most. The combination of genuine investment in my abilities and a willingness to push me beyond what felt comfortable not only transformed the way I saw myself as a learner, but also ignited a desire to offer that same experience to others. Since then, I have tutored students across a wide range of ages, subjects, and levels, from core GCSE Subjects like English and Maths, through to A-Level History and Economics, with one principle remaining constant: that progress is rarely just academic. Helping 4 GCSE students rise by at least one grade boundary between their January mocks and final examinations, and watching A-Level students achieve top-band marks and A and A* grades after focused work on essay writing and source analysis, confirmed my belief that when a student feels genuinely supported, the results follow naturally. I believe the most important thing a tutor can offer is the willingness to listen before they teach; students often already know where they are struggling, and the tutor's job is to understand that rather than impose a fixed plan. Having been through examinations myself relatively recently, I am mindful of the emotional weight that accompanies academic struggle, and I make it a priority to create an environment where every student feels comfortable asking questions and taking on new challenges. It is the combination of empathy, adaptability, and high expectations that I aim to bring to every student I work with, regardless of age or ability.
