The Big Boost: Two Days of Fun, Learning, and Adventure!

On September 1st and 2nd, we hosted and had a collaboration with Summit Club Kids Big Boost Inset Day Adventure at The Dalgarno Trust — and what an incredible two days it was! Designed to help children shake off the “summer brain drain” and step into the new school year with confidence, the event combined playful learning with high-energy fun.

From the moment the doors opened, the energy was buzzing. Dozens of children poured in, excited to see what adventures awaited them. The playground filled quickly with laughter and chatter as new friendships formed before activities even began.

Day 1: Journey to Ancient Egypt

Our first adventure transported the children straight into the world of pyramids, pharaohs, and hieroglyphics. Through games, storytelling, and hands-on experiments, the children discovered the wonders of Ancient Egypt:

  • Hieroglyph decoding challenges that turned problem-solving into a thrilling puzzle.

  • Sand and treasure hunts where kids uncovered "artifacts" while working in teams.

  • A creative session making their own Egyptian-inspired crafts to take home.

The highlight? A big experiment that demonstrated how Egyptians might have used simple science and tools to build their incredible monuments. The children were amazed to see how physics and history connected in such fun ways.

Day 2: Exploring Atlantic City

The second day brought a completely different theme — the vibrant spirit of Atlantic City. Children dove into activities inspired by seaside fun, bright lights, and big energy.

  • Maths through games — from dice rolls to strategic challenges — learning disguised as play!

  • STEM experiments simulating rollercoaster physics and carnival-style problem-solving.

  • Creative arts activities, where children designed their own “cityscapes” full of colour and imagination.

Of course, the playground breaks in between kept the energy high — running, climbing, and giggling with friends were just as important as the structured activities.

Why The Big Boost Worked?

What made these two days so special wasn’t just the subjects — it was the way the children engaged with them. Instead of sitting still and being talked at, they moved, explored, experimented, and created. Parents told us afterwards that their children came home buzzing with stories, eager to share what they had learned.

And that was exactly the goal: to boost confidence, curiosity, and joy for learning right before the new term.

Thank You ❤️

We’re so grateful to all the families who joined us and trusted us with their children. The turnout was fantastic, and seeing the smiles on the children’s faces reminded us why we love what we do.

A huge thank you also goes to our brilliant partners at Summit Club Kids, as well as the amazing team of tutors and staff who made both days run so smoothly.
