PERSONAL STATEMENT

I have a deep love for teaching and helping others. My experience as a Teaching Associate and a Camp Counselor had helped me see the fulfilment and impact teaching, leading and mentoring students can have.

My own experiences with private tutors allows me to understand the benefits and support private tutoring can give children and the importance of providing students with one-to-one support. It gave me the confidence I needed to excel within and out of the classroom and provided me with the space to ask questions that I didn’t feel I could voice in school. The pressures of education and within the classroom can be immense. However, it is important to provide a safe space for students to learn without adding additional pressure.

I believe a tutor’s role is to support, guide and to help students fall in love with learning. This involves getting to know students on a personal level and creating an environment where they feel encouraged and happy and aren't placed under significant pressure. My best experiences during my education were with teachers who were passionate about their subjects and driven. I aspire to bring the same passion and drive to my own sessions and ensure that my sessions are fun and engaging, tailored to the specific and individual needs of every student.

My goal is to help every student I encounter to fall in love with the subjects they are learning, to help them become confident in learning independently and cultivating skills which can help them throughout their education and beyond. To be able to understand the joys of learning, even in subjects they find challenging.

I am passionate about everything I do and commit myself to, and am highly motivated. I am always seeking to expand my worldview and not just impart knowledge to others, but equally learn from them and their experiences. My deep understanding of others and empathic nature is something that I can bring to tutoring sessions which are invaluable to the students and help me to easily adapt to each student’s needs and wants.
