PERSONAL STATEMENT

I am passionate about education and feel I have the creativity, patience, experience, and pedagogical knowledge to deliver a high-quality tutoring service to a wide range of age groups and abilities. Moreover, I have experience supporting successful applications to Russel Universities for courses such as Engineering, Medicine and Law as well as admission into UK’s top grammar schools for my younger students. I also have an excellent academic record (having achieved 97% in Chemistry A-Level, 95% in Maths and the top Biology mark in my school).

It is my belief that the most important quality a tutor must possess is an appreciation of the individual requirements, needs and aptitudes of each of their pupils. Furthermore, I ensure that I identify and develop the natural learning style of each of my students, enabling them to achieve their intellectual potential. This is supported by marking of past papers, notes on exam strategy and the regular setting of homework. Having also recently completed my own education, I can vividly recall the challenges and anxieties students face during exams. This fresh perspective enables me to approach tutoring with empathy and a relatable outlook, forming a bond that goes beyond the traditional teacher-pupil relationship. For me, tutoring is not just about imparting knowledge; it's about empowering students to embrace their education and find joy in their subjects, even those that may seem challenging.

Being close in age to some of my tutees allows me to connect with them on a personal level, promoting a comfortable and supportive learning environment. I believe in cultivating confidence and progress, celebrating every achievement, no matter how big or small. In my tutoring practice, I focus on individualised learning plans, exam techniques, and revision skills to equip students with the tools they need to reach their academic potential. Through open communication and reflection, my students and I celebrate their progress together, nurturing a love for learning that extends far beyond the classroom.

As a tutor, my ultimate goal is to create a supportive, secure, and enjoyable environment where students can flourish academically and personally. I take pride in my ability to make learning stimulating and enjoyable for students of all abilities, fostering a positive and lasting impact on their educational journey.
